Description:  Explore women's history in Western Culture from the middle ages to modern times, focusing on the ways that women have created power in a social structure designed to prevent them from citizenship, ownership and self-reliance since ancient times. Covers the roles of women in the Renaissance, Age of Enlightenment & Colonial America, as well as female artistic expression in the visual arts and literature.

Instructor: Steve Pollack lectures on culture, history, music and art in area schools, libraries, and community & continuing education groups.
