Description:  Discover the history, growth, decline, and future of the American circus. From animal training to acrobats and clowns, explore its impact on American life. Learn about the major entrepreneurs and performers, the circus's ability to create and dismantle a city within a day, and the evolution of circuses in the 21st century.

Instructor: John Shepherd is a retired soldier and engineer. Since 2007, he has taught classes on history and the circus.
