Upper Dublin Township seeks a qualified individual for the position of Senior Mechanic in our Fleet Department. Responsibilities of the position will involve, but are not limited to: performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on the Township’s fleet of vehicles and equipment. This includes public works vehicles, police cars and other specialized equipment. Performing state inspection on all required township vehicles.
Candidates should be responsible, have the ability to perform heavy manual labor for long periods under adverse weather conditions, use technical and mechanical skills and knowledge to make proper and timely repairs of vehicles. Be able to lift and carry heavy equipment, tools and vehicle parts. This position must be available for emergency call-ins and may involve long hours for mandatory overtime during snow storms.
A Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License is preferred. Heavy Duty PA State Inspection License is required. Formal technical training in automotive and heavy truck repair preferred.
The union senior mechanic position has a four-step hourly salary range of $31.52-$39.41 over a three year period. The position starts with a probationary rate of $31.52 per hour.
