Civil Service Commission
The Civil Service Commission enforces Rules and Regulations approved by the Board; conducts examinations and certifies qualified applicants for positions and promotions within the Police Department; and, conducts hearings for police officers who appeal a suspension, removal or reduction in rank in the Police Department, issue subpoenas for such hearings and render written decisions on such appeals.
Three members, two alternate members and one attorney are appointed by the Board of Commissioners. Civil Service Commission members may not serve on other Township Boards or Commissions. New appointments and re-appointments usually occur in December. View the appointed members and other details about this commission.
Civil Service Rules and Regulations are approved by Resolutions by the Board of Commissioners.
