Regular Weekly Mixed-Recycling Collection
Cardboard Pickup

Regular Weekly Mixed-Recycling Schedule

Mixed-recycling is collected once each week. Place your wheeled recycling cart at the curb at least four feet (4') away from obstructions such as utility poles, mailboxes, cars, refuse carts, etc. Please do not put mixed-recycling out more than one day ahead of schedule and retrieve your can/cart that same day.

Acceptable Recycling Items

The following items may be placed in your blue cart for Regular Weekly Mixed-Recycling:

All clear and colored glass bottles and jars
Aluminum cans, tin cans, and bi-metal cans
Cardboard
- Allowed: Thin cardboard such as cereal boxes, cardboard cut into 1-foot by 1-foot pieces
- Not Allowed: Food contaminated cardboard such as pizza boxes, corrugated cardboard such as for shipping and packaging. To recycle large pieces or large quantities of cardboard, please see the next tab called "Cardboard Pickup."
Paper
- Allowed: Newspaper, office paper, magazines, catalogues, junk mail, and phone books
- Not Allowed: Shredded paper, hardback books, food-contaminated items
Cartons
- Allowed: Food & beverage cartons for milk, juice, soup, broth, dry goods, and wine are acceptable

#1 - #7 Plastics:
- Allowed:
  - #1 - Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET, PETE). PET is a clear, tough plastic used in soda bottles.
  - #2 - High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). HDPE is a plastic used to make bottles for milk jugs, detergent containers and shampoo bottles.
  - #3 - Vinyl or Polyvinyl Chloride (V). V is a rigid plastic used cleaning product containers.
  - #4* - Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE). LDPE is a plastic used to make plastic tubs and lids such as butter and margarine tubs.
  - #5* - Polypropylene (PP). PP is a plastic used for yogurt and butter containers.
  - #6* - Polystyrene (PS). PS is a plastic used for food storage and serving products.
  - #7 - Other mixed plastics.
- Not Allowed: Plastic bags, plastic caps, plastic six-pack holders, syringes, and Styrofoam are not accepted. If there is any recycle number other than #1 - #7 OR no markings at all, discard the item with regular household trash.
  - *#4 packing materials such as shrink wrap, film, or bubble wrap are not accepted as these damage the sorting equipment.
  - *#5 Polypropylene bags or fabric are not accepted.
  - *#6 Polystyrene/Styrofoam® is not accepted in any form (including packing peanuts).
