The Human Relations Commission (HRC) is empowered to receive and mediate complaints in regards to the prohibition of discrimination in housing, commercial property, employment and public accommodations based upon race, color, religious creed, ancestry, age, sex, national origin, handicap or disability, use of guide or support animals because of the blindness, deafness or physical handicap of the user or because the user is a handler or trainer of support or guide animals, or because of an individual's sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. The ordinance forming this Commission also provides for the awarding of damages by a court having jurisdiction.

The HRC has seven members. The first appointments to the HRC were made at the November 14, 2017 Stated meeting of the Board of Commissioners.

Mission Statement

As empowered by the Upper Dublin Board of Commissioners, and in accordance with Upper Dublin Township Ordinance No. 17-1333, the Human Relations Commission shall work toward the elimination of discrimination and harassment through education, communication, mediation, and community outreach. The Commission seeks to promote greater understanding, inclusion, and justice for those who live, work, study, worship, visit, and play in Upper Dublin Township.
